Kickboxing injury? What is it? | |
I was kicked in the left ribs last week, yesterday I was punched in the same spot. It's really sore now, I can't sleep on my side and it hurts to do everything - even breath!
A friend suggested I may have a cracked rib.
There is no bruising nothing on the outside but it's really tender and sore.
How can you tell if you have a cracked rib?

Hopefully you didn't break it. There's only one way to be sure and that's to get it X-rayed. Sometimes the cartilage separates from the rib cage and this is painful, but after a few weeks it goes away. I had this happen to me plenty of times throughout my career and I hoping this is what your problem is.
Don't push yourself like a madwoman, take your time. If you were injured last week, why are sparring this week. The saying "No pain no gain" does not apply to facial injuries or sore ribs.
Peace.
